For Your UMSL Experience

Continue meeting with your advisor at least once per semester

Check your UMSL email account daily

Keep tabs on your degree progress (MyDegree)

Meet with your advisor for a graduation check

Apply for Graduation once you determine your graduating semester

Complete Exit Interviews and Major field exams

Attend the Graduation Fair to register for the commencement ceremony and purchase your cap and gown


For Your Career

Update your resume and profile in TritonCareers

Visit the Career Services page for activities related to job searching

Develop your job search plan

Attend Resume and Interview Skills Workshops

Attend Career Fairs


For Post-Degree Education

Take Standardized Exams (GRE, GMAT, OAT, LSAT, MCAT) early enough that your scores can be sent in before the application deadline

Assemble documents such as letters of recommendations, portfolios, and writing samples

Complete applications by the deadlines


International Students

 If you change your major or program, contact ISS to update your I-20

Report any change of address within 10 days (through MyView)

Consult an international student advisor before accepting an internship or job off-campus

Maintain full time enrollment unless you have received prior approval from ISS

Consider serving as a leader at International Student Orientation

Attend an OPT workshop to learn about post-graduation work options (F-1 students only)

Request an extension of your I-20 before the end date if you need more time to complete the program
