Shereka Kemp (she/her) earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri St. Louis May 2015 and her Master of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri St. Louis May 2023.

Shereka joined UMSL’s Student Advocacy and Care in August 2019 where she served as Senior Case Manager. In this role, Shereka focused on programs and services provided to students in Student Advocacy & Care.  She began her career working with at-risk youth for the State of Missouri, Division of Youth Services, at a residential treatment facility (Missouri Hills Campus).  Shereka’s previous roles include Deputy Juvenile Officer at the St. Louis County Family Court and a Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) investigator at the St. Louis County Children’s Division. She has also recently started teaching first-year experience seminar. Spring 2023, Shereka had the opportunity to work alongside former Manager of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct, Andrea Melrose, where she successfully completed her practicum hours towards her graduate program.

Shereka enjoys serving a diverse student population at UMSL and having a team of faculty and staff that are always willing to work collaboratively to help UMSL students successfully reach the finish line (degree completion).

Shereka grew up in the heart of Ferguson, enjoys family time, traveling, karaoke, and comedy.
