System-Wide Student Record Holds
Overview
In some cases, it is necessary to maintain service indicators or holds on student records across all four campuses in the University of Missouri System. These holds are important in situations where a student has received sanctions such as:
- University Dismissal
- University Suspension
- University Expulsion
- Other cross-campus sanctions or agreements
These holds ensure that sanctions or agreements that extend beyond a single campus are recognized and enforced system-wide.
More information can be found in the UM System Collected Rules – Equity Resolution Process.
Mechanism
A university/system-wide service indicator or hold may be placed in the student information system (e.g., PeopleSoft) to enforce the policy.
- These indicators are added and removed by authorized personnel on each campus.
- Once applied or removed, the hold automatically impacts student records across all campuses in the UM System.
