John serves as director of development for Planned Giving, working with donors to support UMSL through estate plans and gifts of assets such as stocks, donor-advised funds and retirement accounts. In this role, he helps alumni and friends create lasting impact while aligning their philanthropic goals with the university's future.
He studied theatre and vocal performance at the University of Arkansas. He joined UMSL in 2025 and brings more than 15 years of fundraising experience spanning human and civil rights organizations, arts institutions and commercial Broadway productions. He is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Saint Louis Symphony Chorus and volunteer with Opera Theatre Saint Louis.
His connection to UMSL is multigenerational — his father and sister are alumni, and his mother graduated from the University of Missouri. Growing up in North County, he saw firsthand how UMSL expands opportunity and strengthens the region by educating students who stay and contribute to the community. That regional impact is what makes the mission especially meaningful to him.
