MEDEX
Secure
__________________________________________________________
Despite the difficult financial
picture, the
MEDEX Secure provides a broad range
of 24-hour travel, medical and security assistance services to you while
traveling. Those services/benefits are summarized on the attached MEDEX Secure
Rider. Further details can be found on their website: www.medexassist.com. If you have detailed
questions about MEDEX, you should contact:
Maggie Cardano, Client Relations Manager
MEDEX Global Group
Toll-free #800-537-2029
Direct #410-453-6328
FAX #410-308-7905
As a UM employee you are
automatically covered. Information about accessing MEDEX benefits is noted on
the second attachment, “Intro to MEDEX Secure.” It is advantageous however, to
register with MEDEX before you travel. In part, your prior registration will
give you access to information about the country you plan to visit. To register
with MEDEX, please follow the directions in the third attachment “MEDEX Member
Center Instructions for Faculty and Staff.”
In the event of a health or security
problem abroad, MEDEX will notify the campus police about the incident. Beyond
that, you can specify which person should be notified. When you login to
register with MEDEX, go to MEDEX 360 TR (travel registry). Create a traveler
profile and save. Click “add contact” and complete the emergency contact
information. In this same area, you can also add information about health
history, allergies and passport photocopies and
photos.
