General management guidance for household hazardous waste can be had from the USEPA and the Missouri DNR

St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District sponsors free household hazardous waste disposal drop-off days, twice a year, usually in April and October. This link also has a nice chart specifying what may go safely down the drain.

Small businesses, and schools need to contact the Missouri DNR.

Any attempt to "leave" hazardous waste with someone who does not want it, is a criminal offense.
