Our Mission

 

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department is committed to establishing and maintaining a safe and healthful learning and work environment for those attending classes, those teaching and conducting research and those whose efforts support these activities while on the campus or its operational extensions.

Application of the tools of loss control and risk management is indispensable in these endeavors. Since compliance with environmental and safety regulations is believed to be a significant means of accomplishing this mission, promulgation of such regulations, training in their requirements and comprehensive physical support for compliance with them are major efforts of the Department.
