The scholarship is awarded to a dependent of an UMSL staff member. (If there is no qualified candidate, then the award can be issued to a dependent of any University of Missouri employee based at the UMSL campus.) The student must be an entering freshman at UMSL, pursuing an undergraduate degree, and enrolling in at least 12 credit hours. Selection is based on merit and need; class rank and ACT, SAT, or SCAT scores are also considered.
