Jim Widner--Bass, Artistic Director
Jim currently serves as director of Jazz Studies at UM-St. Louis and leader of the Jim Widner Big Band and the St. Louis Jazz Orchestra. Jim is an alumnus of the Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, and Glenn Miller big bands. In 2006, the title of the Statesman was conferred upon Jim by the Statesman of Jazz. He has performed with artists such as Clark Terry, Bill Watrous, Mulgrew Miller, and Randy Brecker; and his recordings have received critical acclaim. |

Camp Features:
• Musical instruction from beginner
to advanced
• Jazz improvisation, combo,
and big band playing
• Master and jazz theory classes
• Jam sessions and daily concerts
Application Procedure:
Students 13 years or older with
a minimum of one year of study
on their instruments are encouraged
to apply. Adult musicians may also apply.
