Arrange for an official copy of your high school transcript to be sent directly to UMSt. Louis. It will be reviewed for required academic units and class rank. If you complete the General Educational Development Test (GED), an official copy of the test scores must be submitted. Total test scores must be, or exceed, 250 for consideration.
Submit college entrance test scoresACT or SAT scores for admissions purposes cannot be older than five years.
If you have 24 hours or less of college course work, you must submit official transcripts from those institutions as well.
How to Transfer to UMSt. Louis
Submit the General Application for Undergraduate Admission with the application fee (if you have never attended UMSt. Louis).
Arrange for official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities previously attended to be sent directly to UMSt. Louis. These documents become the property of the University. Hand-carried credentials cannot be accepted.
To be admitted to the University of Missouri as a transfer student, you must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours of college-level work and must have an overall minimum GPA of a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). If you have completed less than 24 credit hours, you must apply under the procedures governing first-time freshman admission (see paragraph above).
Graduate
In order to obtain graduate credit for graduate-level work, students must be admitted to the Graduate School. Students who have not yet been admitted to the Graduate School may sign up for graduate credit for courses during one semester. In order to obtain graduate credit, they must be admitted to the Graduate School prior to the end of that first semester.
Students not wishing to pursue a graduate degree may be admitted as Non-Degree (ND) students. ND students are required to have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75. A formal application is required. Course work completed by an ND student is not regarded as completed within a degree program. If such course work is later to be applied to a degree program, it must be approved by the department and may not exceed nine credit hours.
Students wishing to enter graduate degree programs must submit official copies of transcripts from institutions granting the applicant a degree or where the applicant has been enrolled for 15 or more credit hours. Students not pursuing a graduate degree at UMSt. Louis, but who are considering doing so, are encouraged to make formal application to the Graduate School during their first semester of coursework.
