It took
only one day to get the insurance approval, but I already knew I
was going to Boston for the surgery. Next Tuesday 12/10 at 7:45am,
I will have the procedure.
I am feeling rushed because
the car is packed and the kids are ready to go to Phyllis and Ron
Schmit’s, where they will be staying the entire time. Write to them
at ___________ .
The last week, I’ve felt
so loved from e-mails and conversations that I said to Abi, ironically,
this almost felt like a ‘good’ experience. Yesterday Hana came home
with a card from every kid in her class…
Wednesday and Thursday
I’ve been tired and in bed most of the day, but still feeling everyone’s
support. Today I woke up from my nap, put my hands to my head and
thought, “oh shit, this is really it.”
So we drive to Boston
over the next two days and I do a pre-op check in on Monday.
From here on Abi will
be keeping you up-to-date. We are taking a computer and she will
continue to send you information about ‘what is up.’ From now on,
write to Abi (she will read messages to me) at abi@katzstein.com
or if you write to me, I won’t be able to read it until I get back.
Abi will keep you well informed because she has a wonderful soul,
she is a third year medical student and writes well….
Please keep us in your
prayers, particularly on Tuesday the 10th.
Here are some other ways
you can help, last time we learned the following things:
Please don’t send flowers,
they make my nose itch. Jokes are good though. We also like to hear
Yellow Springs “News” and updates about our children, if you see
them.
Please don’t call, it
is very tiring to talk on the telephone. Write to us instead. If
you would like to leave a message, call us at home and leave a message
on the machine and we will pick it up. The number is
