Bruker Avance 300 MHz NMR Overview

Avance300

In 2001, a Varian XL-300 console and electronics were upgraded to a Bruker Avance 300 spectrometer. The Avance 300 spectrometer is the departmental workhorse instrument.  It is currently equipped with a four-nucleus probe (1H, 13C, 19F, and 31P) with z-gradients and variable temperature capability.  An additional 5 mm switchable broadband probe tunable for 1H-19F/15N -31P is also available.  This instrument is used primarily for routine walk-on (daytime between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm) use for monitoring reactions, and checking the purity of samples, but it is also used for longer run experiments such as 1D 13C and  routine 2D experiments: COSY, HMQC, HSQC, and HMBC in the evening (after 8:00 pm) and weekends. (Request for training)

  • Oxford magnet (54 mm bore)
  • PC/NT Pentium III 750MHz computer
  • BSMS magnetic control system
  • 5mm four-nucleus probe observable for 1H, 13C, 19F, and 31P with z-gradient
  • 5mm switchable broadband probe (boron-free), tunable for 1H -19F/15N -31P
  • Variable temperature capability (-150º C to +200º C)
