Mildred Johnson and Theresa Delsoin share the story of Malindy Wilson, their great-grandmother and subject of the MHS Press book "Malindy’s Freedom." Malindy, born a free Cherokee Indian woman, was unlawfully enslaved by a Missouri farmer in Franklin County . Although married to a freedman, she and her five children remained enslaved. Malindy’s Freedom is the story of their survival in slavery through emancipation in 1865. Co-editor Stuart Symington, Jr. joins the authors. Breakfast is available prior to the program, at 9:00am , for a cost of $11.95. Reservations required.
