The School of Social Work at UMSL Announces an Assistant Professor Position

Faculty position. UM-St. Louis invites candidates to apply for an assistant professor position beginning the 2017/18 academic year. We are looking for candidates with an active research agenda, an earned doctorate, and a macro-level focus is preferred. An MSW plus two years of post-Master's experience is preferred, and all qualified candidates will be considered. The successful candidate for the position will teach courses for both the BSW and MSW programs. Salary is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications.

The School of Social Work. With 550 BSW and MSW students, UM-St. Louis' School of Social Work is a vibrant, collegial, and growing program. It is the only public graduate social work program in the eastern part of Missouri and draws a diverse group of traditional and non-traditional students. The School of Social Work is recognized for excellent teaching, service, and scholarship. Pilot research funds, teaching enhancement awards, and travel grants are available at the campus and university levels. The library system offers access to a wide variety of social work research and writing and provides rapid access to all major research libraries in the state. The School houses the campus Creating Whole Communities program and the Center for Family Research and Policy. It has close ties with the Non-Profit Management and Leadership program, the Gender Studies Program, the Trauma Studies Center, International Studies and Programs, and the Public Policy Research Center.

The University. UM-St. Louis is a research and teaching campus with 33 Masters and 14 Doctoral programs in addition to its 49 Bachelor degrees.
