Applicants interested in applying to the University of Missouri- St. Louis College of Nursing DNP Program must complete the following steps:

  • Apply to the University of Missouri- St. Louis by completing the UMSL Graduate Application (please note, there is a $50.00, non-refundable application fee).  You will be asked to submit the following through the UMSL Graduate Admissions Application Portal:
    • An essay, which should respond to the following attributes:
      • Introduction: Include professional background, but not personal identifiers such as name, place of employment, etc., and the population track of interest (i.e., leadership, FNP, AGNP, etc.) (250 word maximum)
      • Learning: Describe how you think about and pursue learning in your profession (250 word maximum)
      • Diversity: Discuss a nursing practice experience that changed or impacted your understanding of diversity and why (250 word maximum)
      • Meaningfulness: Describe an activity that brings meaning to your life (250 word maximum)
      • Leadership: Describe direct or indirect leadership experiences you have had (250 word maximum)
      • Final summary
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • Current CV/Resume
    • Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities
  • Complete the College of Nursing DNP Supplemental Application

Application Deadline for Fall Enrollment: Early acceptance: January 15.  After January 15, rolling admissions until class is full.

International Students: Given the time required to process international applications, all international applicants must apply by the early acceptance deadline of January 15 for admission consideration.  Applications submitted after January 15 will be considered for admission in the same or subsequent academic year, depending on the processing time needed.
