MOBIUS is a consortium of academic libraries from colleges and universities within the state of Missouri. The organization's purpose is to share library materials, information, and services using accessible, cost effective methods. The MOBIUS Union Catalog includes more than 23 million items, serving over 1.5 million people from the higher education community and the state of Missouri. A courier service delivers library materials to member libraries once per day, five days a week.

The colleges and universities that participate in MOBIUS are divided into clusters. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is part of the MERLIN cluster. The other universities in MERLIN are the University of Missouri-Columbia, the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla), the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  MERLIN also includes items from the State Historical Society of Missouri.
