British Literature after 1790.
(b)
A student may elect to pursue an emphasis area or areas by
taking 3 courses at the 3000/4000 level within the areas described below.
(c)
Students may not use the same course to satisfy both a
distribution requirement and an emphasis area.
(d)
Some courses (marked with an *) may be counted in more than
one emphasis area (OR: “can count in one or another emphasis area”—I’m not 100%
sure what this means anymore)
5. Emphasis Areas. By taking at least three courses at the
3000/4000-level, in any of the following six areas, students may qualify as
having achieved an emphasis in that area. Required survey courses do not
count toward the Emphasis Area. Some
courses may be cross-listed under different area headings and thus count
toward more than one Emphasis Area; such courses are marked with an asterisk
