Department of Economics
Email: scheids@umsl.edu
Professor Scheid joined the Economics Department at UMSL in 2016 as a full time lecturer. He studied graduate economics at Washington University in St. Louis where he received his Masters if Arts in Economics. His areas of interest include public finance, microeconomic theory, and the design of dynamic labor contracts. Professor Scheid has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for both business and non-business students; at UMSL he regularly teaches principles of microeconomics, principles of macroeconomics and an economics survey course. His goals in the classroom are to help students sharpen their analytical skills while teaching them the basic economic concepts that play a part in business strategy, policy disputes and everyday decision-making. He is currently pursuing research in income tax theory.
