Dr Ray Mundy

Center Director 

Dr Mundy joined the UMSL College of Business in January 2000 as the Director of the Center for Transportation Studies and Barriger Endowed Professor of Transportation and Logistics. Previously he had held the Taylor Chair of Transportation at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr Mundy currently directs the Center’s program of teaching and research in the field of Transportation. He teaches graduate courses in Supply Chain Management and Transportation. Over the years he has authored many transportation-related articles, but more recently he has concentrated his research on the taxi and airport ground transportation industry in commissioned reports.   He is an active lecturer at national transportation and logistics seminars and is a frequent contributor of articles to trade publications and journals.

In addition to his University duties, Dr Mundy is the executive director of the Airport Ground Transportation Association and Director of the Tennessee Transportation and Logistics Foundation.

Dr Mundy has completed a series of texts for industry centered on process flow analysis and statistical process control. His latest books include; Taxi! Urban Economies and the Social and Transport Impacts of the Taxicab with James Cooper, Napier University, UK, and John Nelson, University of Aberdeen, UK, was released in January, 2010., and Readings in Modern Railroad Management, Volumes One, Two, and Three, Ray A. Mundy and Daniel Rust, (2014) Bookpatch Publishing, 762 pages.

 

Dr Jill M. Bernard Bracy, PhD 

Assistant Teaching Professor, Marketing

Assistant Director for Program Development, Center for Transportation Studies

Jill Bernard Bracy is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Marketing in the College of Business Administration and Assistant Director of Program Development for the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Dr. Bernard teaches courses in marketing and transportation, and her research interests include transportation safety and policy initiatives. She currently serves as the faculty advisor for the Transportation Club and as Vice President for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals-St. Louis Roundtable. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business/Marketing from Fontbonne University, an MBA from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, and a PhD in Business Administration with an emphasis in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with Marketing as a supporting field from UMSL.

 

Mr Michael G Edwards

Michael Edwards has been a UMSL assistant teaching professor based in the Center for Transportation Studies for the past two years. Professor Edwards spent 40 years in various executive management roles for Logistics and the Supply Chain Management. Some of these assignments included Brunswick Corporation, Sherwood Medical, Emerson, Alfred Karcher, GmBH and Consumer Product Services, a reverse logistics third-party logistics provider. Mr Edwards responsibilities included tactical and strategic management of both forward as well as reverse logistics, demand planning, inventory management, distribution center management, order fulfilment and customer service, network planning, mergers and acquisitions, third-party logistics, transportation, trade compliance, technology application, and procurement. He has extensive international as well as domestic experience.

 

Charles P. Conners

Charlie Conners was born and raised in St. Louis, MO.  Graduated from the University of Dayton with a major in communications and a minor in political science.  Gained masters in communication management from Webster University.  He began his professional career in transportation with Dayton Freight Lines working in various operational roles, ending with a sales role.  For the past three years, Charlie has worked for a St. Louis based transportation management and solutions company.

 

Toni Garcia 

Adjunct Professor

U.S. Licensed Customs Broker, Toni is also NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist.
Experienced with many Customs processes including, Establishing Trade Compliance Policies, HTS Classification, Binding Rulings, Duty Drawback, ACS Reconciliation, Free Trade Agreements, C-TPAT, ISF Process. Toni’s international transportation expertise: Air, Ocean, Small Package.
