The planetarium is located in Room 407 of the Research Building on UMSL's North Campus. It accommodates up to 36 people at a time.  It houses a Spitz Scidome HD Digital Projection System which has a database of over a half billion stars, galaxies, and other deep-sky objects that can be displayed on the 24-foot dome. The projection system also offers 3D views of the planets and known moons. In addition, the projection system can display coordinate lines (meridian, ecliptic, zenith) and demonstrates the phases of the moon, the daily and annual motion of the Sun (Earth's rotation and orbit), and the seasons.
