Trunk-or-Treat is a service event geared toward UMSL families and the surrounding community. Started in 2010, this program has grown from 75 children to nearly 600 attending! It takes place on the Saturday before Halloween (if Halloween falls on a Saturday, it takes place on that day).
It is intended to:
1) provide a safe and fun way for families to enjoy Halloween festivities
2) early exposure of a collegiate environment to children
3) increase the community’s knowledge about the campus. The attendants will enjoy various activity booths, coupled with “trunk-or-treating,” which means they go from trunk to trunk getting treats! Costumes are encouraged but not required. This event is for children ages 0-12.
UMSL student organizations, departments/offices, and individuals can provide trunks (including treats), or create an activity booth. Departments and offices are also welcome to share materials they may serve the needs of community members.
