Sept. 13, 2021 - An important update on face covering requirements

Dear UMSL Community,

The University of Missouri Board of Curators voted this afternoon to extend the current face covering requirements at UMSL and all other UM System universities through Friday, Oct. 15.

The board’s action means that UMSL will continue to require all faculty, staff, students and visitors age five and older to wear a face mask when entering or occupying a physical building or facility owned, operated or managed by the university regardless of vaccination status. Additionally, face coverings are required when utilizing campus shuttles. Wearing face masks outdoors, especially in group settings, is strongly encouraged.

This extension of the masking requirement gives our campus community an added measure of protection against the spread of COVID-19. However, becoming fully-vaccinated is the safest and most effective way to protect your own health and that of your family, friends and our university community.

If you have not yet done so, please join a vaccination event or schedule your appointment today and be sure to log your vaccination record to be a Triton VIP via the student health portal or myHR.

Best regards,

UMSL Unified Command
