Biographical Narrative:

Erica Koegler received her PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2016 and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration. She approaches human trafficking research both from a social work and public health perspective. Her dissertation research examined the relationships between poor mental health and sexual risk for conflict-affected populations, with a focus on Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Her current research projects examine human trafficking in the American Midwest and in Cape Town, South Africa. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Dr. Koegler teaches research courses and serves as a MSW student advisor.
