Giving to the School of Social Work

Thank you for considering a gift to the School of Social Work. We are dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and high quality degrees to a diverse, nontraditional student body. As you know, the St. Louis region is facing uncertain times and in times such as these, we see a growing need for social work services here in the St. Louis region and beyond. The School of Social Work is not immune to difficult times. With waning state support and looming budget cuts, your generous tax-deductible donation in any amount is needed now more than ever.

How to Give

There are many ways you can support the School of Social Work and its students. To give a gift to Social Work or one of its named scholarships using the University's online donation form, follow the steps below.

  2. There is a list of funds at the bottom of the page that are set up for giving: The Social Work Development fund, which is used for student programming, and two Alumni scholarship funds. You can give to one of those by clicking on those links.
  3. If you'd like to designate a different scholarship or fund, click I WANT TO GIVE box on the top right of the screen. You can choose either ‘Monthly’ or ‘Now.’
  4. Enter the gift amount.
  5. Under Gift Designation, click the circle next to “Search for Designations,” which will bring up a pop-up box.
  6. You can give to one of three general funds listed under School of Social by scrolling down to School of Social Work or scroll all the way to the bottom of the form and check the box for “Other Fund,” which you may then specify in Gift Instructions box.

Social Work Gift Funds and Scholarships

Thank you again for considering a gift to the School of Social Work. With your support, we can continue to grow and develop excellent social work practitioners.

Social Work Development Fund
The School of Social Work uses the general fund to support our students in various way. Some of the ways this fund is used is to support a large group of students who travel to Jefferson City each year, to support international travel for students taking part in Study Abroad programs, and to support various on-campus student conferences.

Social Work Scholarship Fund
The School of Social Work Scholarship Fund is not an annually awarded fund, but is used to support students in need at the discretion of the dean. We have used these funds to help students purchase books, pay for small amounts of tuition that other financial aid will not cover, or support students in financial crisis due to unexpected emergencies.
