The 2020 Founders Celebration is dedicated in memory of Wayne Goode who introduced legislation in 1963 to allow for the legal transfer of the old Bellerive Country Club from the Normandy School District to establish the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Goode, who served more than 40 years in elected office in addition to serving on the UM Board of Curators, died Oct. 5 after a battle with leukemia.

The UMSL Strong Scholarship is an invaluable resource for many students because of its broad nature. Since there are no stipulations on area of study, GPA, or other variables, the Office of Student Financial Aid is able to use this scholarship to cover unmet need for students across UMSL’s campus in a wide array of disciplines and at various stages in their academic careers. Many departments have similar scholarships geared to students in a specific major; a list of these awards can be found here. Additionally, UMSL’s Finish Your Degree Scholarship assists students who are within two semesters of graduating and have exhausted all other aid options – this scholarship has helped hundreds of students complete their degrees since it was established in 2013.

For 40 years, UMSL’s College of Nursing has been an innovator and leader in healthcare education in the St. Louis region. Now the college is embarking on its most forward-thinking initiative yet – the renovation and expansion of the Nursing Learning Resource and Simulation Center. This 21,000 square foot immersive center will provide state-of-the-art space, equipment and technology to educate the next generation of nurses.

Please join us as we celebrate the beginning of this long anticipated project and the dedication from the UMSL community that has made it all possible.
