Christopher Miller, M.Ed

I joined the UMSL team in November 2015 as the Director for Student Enrichment & Achievement (formerly Student Retention Services). In this role, my team and I provide academic support and intervention services to at risk students in their process of degree completion. Guided by the core values of Accountability & Support, Diversity & Inclusion, Collaboration, and Academic Development, Student Enrichment & Achievement offers a student-centered, success-oriented approach to student success through active engagement, developmental advisement, and campus-wide collaboration. I’m a native of Houston, TX, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston and completed a Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at Florida Atlantic University.  Currently, I’m pursuing an EdD at UMSL with a focus on STEM Education Enhancement. I enjoy spending time with my cat Paradox.

Maya Scruggs-Hicks, M.A.

Assistant Director

I am a proud native of St. Louis, Missouri.  My K-12 education was through the St. Louis Public School system and I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication from the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL). I’m embarking on a new journey of earning my Doctor of Education with an emphasis Higher Education Student Services from UMSL. After working in multiple support services roles in Higher Education, I was drawn to Academic Coaching.  The most rewarding aspect of my role as a Success Coach is observing students realize their potential and meeting both short term and long term goals. I’ve been with the Office of Student Enrichment & Achievement department since May 2013. Currently, I’ve been in the role Assistant Director of Office of Student Enrichment & Achievement since June 2014. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and exploring all that the city of St. Louis has to offer!

Haley Dixon, M.S.Ed.

Success Coach

I am so excited to serve as a Success Coach in the Office of Student Enrichment and Achievement. Prior to this position, I worked as a Residence Hall Director at Saint Louis University. I earned my B.A. in Public Relations from Marquette University, and my M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Missouri. I became a Success Coach because I love empowering students to set and achieve their goals, while recognizing the unique journey of each student. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, dog, and cat, teaching POUND Fitness, and finding new coffee shops.

Lynetta McAllum, MBA

Success Coach

I started my love affair with UMSL back in 1997 as a student worker in the Registration Office while pursuing my Bachelor’s degree. After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology in 2000, I became a full-time staff member in the former Evening College as an advising assistant. I left for a little while, gaining experience in a variety of fields, but was ecstatic to return in 2013 when a position in Registration/DARS became available. I returned to UMSL with a MBA from the University of Phoenix and I'm currently exploring options for pursuing a doctorate degree.  I joined the Student Enrichment & Achievement family in April 2018 and am excited to be a Success Coach.  I am honored to be part of the journey that our students take to get to graduation.  Outside of UMSL, I watch an all-encompassing amount of television and am raising two young ladies to be among our next generation of educated women.

David McGraw, M.Ed.

Success Coach

I began my journey at UMSL as an undergraduate student, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Biotechnology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2011. While working as a graduate assistant for the College of Arts & Sciences, I earned an M.A. in Philosophy in 2013 before finishing an M.Ed. in Counseling in 2016. I started working as a Success Coach in the Fall 2016. I use my interdisciplinary studies as a foundation for the way I help students. I believe the key to success lies in our ability to find balance among the various commitments and goals we set; to get the most out of life—including life as a student—we need to make the most of our time and energy! Curiosity, positivity, mindfulness, and growth are some of the core values I foster in myself and share with those close to me.

Antionette Sterling, Ed.D.

In my spare time, I love to read and research. With an avid interest in running and fitness, my hope is to motivate students to stay active.

Alaina Lair

Office Support Assistant II

After receiving my associates in General Studies at Meramec Community College, I transferred to UMSL. It was from here I graduated in May 2017 with a B.A. in Communications. I’m over joyed to be helping students who were just like me fulfilling their dreams to graduate. When I’m not working I enjoy exploring parks and appreciating the performing arts.
