If you or someone you know is experiencing a psychological crisis that requires emergency attention, call for help immediately!

UMSL Counseling Services can provide immediate counseling services to any student experiencing a mental health crisis*.  If you are in crisis and need to be seen immediately, you can walk in during office hours (Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm) to be seen by the walk in counselor.  If possible, please call ahead to let the receptionist know you are in crisis and need to be seen immediately.

*A mental health crisis involves any situation in which you believe you may be an immediate harm to yourself or someone else or have been recently physically or sexually assaulted.

If you are with someone who is in crisis, it may be helpful to call us and then walk with the person to the Counseling Services office at 131 Millennium Student Center (located next to The Nosh  cafeteria, in the same office with Health Services).

In cases where it would be dangerous for the person to walk to Counseling Services, we will arrange to have a counselor come to another location on campus. In these cases, you might also want to call  Campus Police at (314) 516-5155.
