Director

Megan Green Simonds is the Director of New Student Programs and has been at UMSL since February 2013. Before coming to UMSL, she worked as an Assistant Director of Student Life, at Rockhurst University, where her primary responsibilities were in orientation, welcome week, family weekend, advising student organizations, and leadership development.

Megan received her B.A. in Communication, Science and Disorder from Rockhurst University and M.Ed. in Higher Education and Administration from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Her work with student affairs began as an undergraduate student leader in the Office of Student Activities. She continued her education and working as the Program Assistant at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and then advanced as the Coordinator of New Student Programs at Southern Methodist University, where at both institutions excelled in implementing their extended orientation, welcome week, and parent programming. These opportunities have cultivated her passion for diversity education and leadership development, and given her experience in program expansion and implementation.

Erin Sullivan is the Coordinator of New Student Programs and has been at UMSL since January 2017. Before coming to UMSL, she worked as an Assistant Director for New Student Programs, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  Her primary responsibilities were in student leadership development for Orientation Student Coordinators and Orientation Leaders, growing the extended orientation experience, and various events in New Student Programs.

Erin received both her Bachelor of Sciences in Marketing and Master of Sciences in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Missouri State University.  Her excitement for student affairs began as a highly involved student on campus, through her Orientation Leader and Team Leader role in the New Student and Family Programs office. The drive to my work is to have a welcoming, diverse, helpful, and engaging environment for all of our new students and our Orientation Leader team.  Feel free to contact me about any questions you may have about Orientation! #GoTritons #UMSL
