About the Graduate School
Set up or retrieve your SSO ID (single sign-on) and password at https://password.umsl.edu. Your SSO ID will allow you access to your student email account, the MyView student portal, printing services on campus, and much more. This single sign-on typically contains your initials followed by random letters or numbers.
MyView is UMSL's portal for students to register for courses, pay their bill online, update personal information, and much more. You can login to MyView at https://myview.umsl.edu. If this is your first time logging in, you will need to click on "Create/Forgot Password." You will be asked for your SSO, student ID number, and DOB. The Graduate School utilizes your mailing information provided in this portal to send out official letters and your degree after it has been confirmed, so make sure you keep everything up to date.
MyGateway is UMSL's Blackboard portal. You can login using your SSO and password that you created through MyView at https://mygateway.umsl.edu. MyGateway is where your professors will post syllabi, homework assignments, and grades.
In Spring 2018, all professors will be required to use Canvas instead of MyGateway. During the Fall 2017 semester, professors have the choice. If your courses do not appear in MyGateway, login to Canvas to view your courses.
Student ID Number
In addition to your SSO, each student is assigned an official 8 digit student ID number. This number is used to confirm your identity while you are a student at UMSL and may be used to fill out official forms and/or asked when making phone calls to various offices on campus. Your student ID is confidential information and should not be shared with other students on campus for your protection.
Your e-mail account will be activated as soon as you are accepted into the Graduate School. UMSL uses Windows Live as the official campus communication tool and MUST be checked regularly.
In order to begin using your email, you must activate your Office 365 account:
- If you have not already activated your UMSL SSO ID, visit MyView.
- Use your SSO ID to set your Office 365 password. (Office 365 passwords are separate from your SSO ID.)
- Log into http://mail.umsl.edu using your Office 365 login (firstname.lastname@example.org) and password.
In additional to your university email, student's are also given access to their own personal Google Drive Account that can be accessed at https://mydrive.umsl.edu. To login you will use [SSO]@umsl.edu and the password that you created to login to your MyView account. Your UMSL Drive allows you to save files, create excel sheets, and share documents among other UMSL student's and staff. If you are having troubles accessing your drive, you can find step by step set up instructions here.
The TritonCard is UMSL’s official identification card for students, faculty and staff. The card functions include identification, access to your student account, access to certain buildings/events, and sometimes even various discounts.
To obtain your TritonCard, you will need to go the TritonCard Office. They are located at 190 Millennium Student Center (first floor of the MSC). You MUST be registered for at least one class and will need to bring a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport, or other government-issued photo identification).
If you lose your ID, you should report your card here.
Download UMSL's Mobile app to keep up to date on what is going on on campus. You can access MyGateway, your course schedule, dining hours, maps, campus events, and much more! For more information visit http://www.umsl.edu/~umslmobile/.
