General Education Course Requirements

The following general education courses are required for the Traditional BSN. Courses may be in progress at the time of application; however--with the exception of Junior-Level Writing--all courses must be completed before enrolling in the clinical track. Any offer of clinical admission is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the required general education courses.

Students must adhere to the following additional policies in order to stay in the major, and be eligible for the clinical program:

    • Complete the required 48 pre-nursing credits (see list below) by the start the professional major
    • Have an overall minimum GPA of 2.75 overall and at least a 2.75 in the required biological and physical sciences (Biology, Math, and Chemistry)
    • Student’s best attempt grade will be used in calculating GPA
    • Minimum final grade of a C- in each pre-nursing prerequisite course
    • Grade of B- or higher within five years of enrollment is required for Chemistry, A&P I, A&P II, Microbiology
    • Courses with “EX” will not count as an attempt when calculating repeats
    • Cannot have more than one repeat (two graded attempts) per required science course and no more than 3 total repeats of the following required courses:
