Lisa has had a passion for pediatric nursing and education for over 30 years. Upon graduation with her BSN in upstate NY, she made the trek to Missouri and started a long journey with St. Louis Children’s Hospital as a staff nurse, clinical faculty for associated nursing schools and clinical educator. A brief sojourn for her family took them for 5 years to West Virginia University where she was a full time assistant professor. Lisa has been an educator for Barnes College of Nursing, Jewish College of Nursing, St. Luke’s College of Nursing, Lutheran College of Nursing through their affiliation with St. Louis Children’s hospital, as well as with West Virginia University, St. Louis University and UMSL. Here at UMSL she provides classroom, clinical and simulation education mainly in Nursing of Children and Families. She has also been involved with the UMSL/BJC Summer Nurse extern program for 19 years and has coordinated the program since 2006.
