Dionne Dumitru is Chief Operating Officer of Weekends Only, Inc. She has led organizations spanning industries as varied as industrial wholesale distribution, business technology, and furniture retail – her experience sharing a common theme in the development of competitive supply chain systems.
As an executive of Capitol Bolt and Supply, an industrial hardware wholesale distributor headquartered in Austin, Texas, Ms. Dumitru led the implementation of Total Quality Process, Kaizen breakthrough workshops, EDI, and automated replenishment and inventory management systems. She served for two years as a member of the University of Texas Quality Management Consortium. Keenly interested in contributing to supply chain technology innovations, Ms. Dumitru joined the ERP software company Masterpack International. As the Director of Engineering in Sydney, NSW Australia, she led Masterpack’s Business Management Solutions, Warehouse Management System, and Web software development groups while liaising with the professional services executive leadership in the US, UK and Australia. During that time, engineering created innovative solutions which enabled the company to win contracts with enterprise clients in North America, UK, Europe and Asia/South Pacific.
Ms. Dumitru formed a partnership to found a new Australian technology company, Evolve 360 Ltd., and as Managing Director/CEO led the company through its startup and initial product development phase. During this time the company successfully developed and implemented a $33M technology project for an international pharmaceutical wholesale distributor headquartered in South Australia. Under her leadership, Evolve 360 created a robust and innovative technology solution for high-volume companies with multiple real-time technology interfaces internally and with supply chain partners.
Returning to the U.S. with her family, Ms. Dumitru joined Weekends Only, Inc, a St. Louis-based furniture retailer. As Chief Operating Officer she leads the retail business, e-commerce, supply chain distribution, IT and training. The company has most recently opened a store in Indianapolis and plans future growth to become one of the top 50 furniture retailers in the US.
