Education: Ph.D. in Spanish from Purdue University
Yan Li was born and raised in China. She studied Spanish at Beijing University in Beijing, China. She came to the U.S. in 2002 to pursue her graduate studies at Purdue University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Spanish Literature from Purdue University. She has taught beginning and intermediate Spanish and Mandarin Chinese at secondary and post-secondary levels. Before coming to UMSL, she lived in Columbus, Indiana with her husband and two children.
