Dr. Stephanie Merritt is an Associate Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology in the Department of Psychological Sciences. Her research focuses on diversity and intergroup relations, unconscious bias, and trust in automated technology. Dr. Merritt’s research has been published in journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business and Psychology, Human Factors, and others. She was the recipient of the 2008 Jerome Ely Best Paper in Human Factors award and was a finalist for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s 2014 Annual Prize. Dr. Merritt received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University. She mentors doctoral students in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program and is the current program chair.
