As an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Global Leadership and Management Department at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Emily Lane instructs undergraduates in organizational behavior, human resource management, and training & development literature. As an instructor with UM-St. Louis for the past 20+ years as adjunct then teaching faculty, Emily specializes in online course development in synchronous/asynchronous and hybrid/blended formatting.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UMSL, and the Senior Human Resource Certifications of SPHR and SHRM-SCP. Her areas of research interests include remote-working, organizational justice, and organizational culture. As a first-year DBA graduate student, her research paper “Fair or Not? The impact of remote-working on organizational justice during the Covid-19 Pandemic” won Best Paper at the Engaged Management Scholarship Conference 2021.

As a 23-year resident of Ferguson, Missouri, Emily and her husband are busy working and enjoying being empty-nesters. Their daughter is now a structural engineer in Chicago, and their son is currently working on his mechanical engineering degree at Missouri S&T. To help stay balanced while juggling the DBA program with work, Emily enjoys yoga and boxing.
