February 19, 2021 - Celebrating our February UMSL Hero Award recipients

Dear Colleagues,

As we close out the week, I am pleased to share our February 2021 recipients of the UMSL Hero Award – an award that highlights the often-unseen heroic efforts of our university’s staff and faculty as they transform the lives of those in our university community and beyond.

As you know, we launched this prestigious monthly award this January as a way to celebrate those in our community who demonstrate exemplary support of our core values of trust, inclusion, innovation, access, success and engagement.

Please join me in congratulating our February UMSL Hero Award recipients for their above and beyond efforts:

  • Nora Hendren, senior business support specialist, College of Arts and Sciences;
  • Nicholas Kedzuch, assistant director of athletics for special events, game operations and facilities, Department of Athletics; and
  • Maya Scruggs-Hicks, assistant director of student enrichment and achievement, Office of Student Enrichment and Achievement.

I hope you will take a moment to read about their work to elevate our university community on UMSL Daily and I encourage you to nominate fellow colleagues for this monthly award.
