American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers

The American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers program trains professional-level rescuers – EMS personnel, firefighters, athletic trainers, and medical professionals – to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.  This expands on the basic First Aid/CPR/AED course by introducing the use of resuscitation masks, bag-valve-mask resuscitators (BVM) and working with a second rescuer to perform CPR as a team.

Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers valid for two years.  This course includes 6 hours of instruction, and when offered in one day, a meal break is scheduled.  Participants should be prepared to sit, stand, kneel and lie down throughout the course as they experience a combination of classroom instruction and skill practice.
