Above the toilet in the basement bathroom was a large poster of Ham (the monkey shot into space before we sent humans) resting in a "seat" that my father designed & built.

(He went to Cape Canaveral for that space launch, and later exited from the plane with an animal in a cage. The entire family thought he had brought back a monkey as a pet. It turned out to be a Dachshund puppy that a co-worker in Florida had given him. Almost as good as a monkey for my sister and me, but quite a relief for my mother.)

Behind the poster, to spice up the room, he spray painted the wall with silver paint and spray painted the plumbing gold. The bathroom is a small room, but when the you turn on the light, the large picture of Ham, and the gold and silver are quite some effect.
