Summary of MS degree requirements: (Please see Graduate Study Handbook in the department website for detail.)
- 30 credits with an overal GPA of 3 or above to graduate
- at least 15 credits at the 5000 level
- 3 and only 3 credits of CHEM6897 (Chemistry Colloquium)
- at most 6 credits of CHEM6905 (Graduate Research) can be counted for non-thesis students, 12 credits for thesis students
- proficiency requirements: four out of the following five areas: Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry
- normally satisfied by passing the corresponding placement examinations or completed the corresponding remedial courses
- up to six credits of remedial courses can be counted towards the MS degree
