I would like to confirm the appointment I made with you for an oral history interview that will deal with my project on the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood.

As I have it recorded, we will meet for the interview at <the appropriate address>, St. Louis, on <day of week>, <month> <day>, 2000, at <time> <a.m. or p.m.>. My classmate, <name>, will acompany me on this interview. If you need to cancel for any reason, that is fine, but please let me know in plenty of time to change my calendar. We are scheduling several interviews for this project, so managing our time is an important and often tricky business.

As mentioned on the phone, the interview will be taped with our tape recorder and I may also shoot some photographs. The interview will probably last a little over an hour, although the length of an interview is never predictable. I want to stress, however, that I don't want either one of us to get tired out. If you find yourself getting tired during the interview, please let me know and we can terminate the interview for that day and try to reschedule a follow-up, if necessary. Also, if you have any photographs, mementos, artifacts, documents, or other material you would like me to see, please have them ready in time for the interview so we can talk about them at that time.

Please note that I am enclosing the Informed Consent and Deed of Gift forms. Please look these over carefully. If you have any questions concerning these forms, please let us know. They are drafted with the intent to protect your interests as well as to ensure a maintenance of the historical record.You may sign them before we meet or afterwards, as you wish.
