Detective Oscar Farmer was born and raised in St. Louis and he attended St. Louis’ Public School, Vashon High School and Lincoln Law School. Mr. Farmer worked for the St. Louis City Police Department for thirty three years. His father owned a hauling business during the Depression. Oscar Farmer participated in sports while attending Vashon High School. Also, he was offered a scholarship at an Ivy League school because of his athletic ability. Mr. Farmer owned and operated the Tom Carbone Bowling Company they had bowling alleys in St. Louis, Chicago and New York. Mr. Farmer was involved with Mr. Jordan Chambers in the operation of the great Club Riviera supper club which was a Mecca entertainment for the African American community. Mr. Farmer was recognized with many awards from the St. Louis Police Department and the community.
