UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS
The American Association of the United Nations began in 1945 to promote international peace and justice through the educational activities of the United Nations. The Greater St. Louis Chapter affiliated with the national organization in the early 1950s.
In 1965, the St. Louis Chapter sponsored the first annual Midwest Model United Nations Convention held at Washington University. More than 400 students from 13 states represented U.N. member countries in a reproduction of an actual U.N. session.
