Vivian Zwick donated the records of the Woman of Achievement Program to the Western Historical Manuscript Collection at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on October 2, 1996. Use of the files pertaining to Woman of Achievement award nominees who did not win is restricted for ten years from the date of the nomination.

Women of Achievement is the oldest ongoing program in St. Louis with the sole mission of recognizing the contribution of women to the quality of life in the area. St. Louis Globe-Democrat publisher Richard Amberg created the awards program in 1955 to offer an annual award to ten women who have made a significant difference in the community. The ten annual nominees are selected from hundreds of nomination letters submitted by friends, colleagues and family. A committee of community leaders studies the nominations and makes the final selection. The award recipients are honored at an annual luncheon.

This collection contains administrative files, board minutes and notes, photographs, newspaper clippings, and award recipient information. This collection also contains a series for "When Women Lead the Way" program.
