The Reverend Charles Rehkopf's daughter, Susan Rehkopf, donated his papers to the Western Historical Manuscript Collection on February 4, 1998.

As an archivist and historiographer of the Episcopal Diocese, he was active in the State Historical Society, the Missouri Historical Society, the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church, the National Association of Episcopal Historians, for which he edited the newsletter and the Webster Groves Historical Society.
