William and George Madill were brothers who lived in St. Louis in 1866 and 1867. They both wrote their brother, H. J. Madill who lived in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

SCOPE AND CONTENT
There are two letters in the collection. In 1866, William Madill wrote H. J. Madill about H. J. running for political office for the Republican Party. William also wrote of his bout with cholera during the epidemic.

In 1867, George Madill wrote H. J. about asking H. J. to loan him some money for Billy for an undisclosed reason.
