The St. Louis Naturalists Club originated in 1898 when several friends got together to discuss topics of natural science. Someone at the gathering suggested that it would be nice to meet on a regular basis and the club was the result. Although the club is informal in the sense that they have no formal bylaws or officers, they do have unwritten guidelines. The club meets on the last Saturday of every month at the home of one of the members. The club is limited to twelve members and the member who hosts the meeting is responsible for a presentation related to natural science for the edification of his fellow members.
