The Salisbury papers were donated by Mike and Nora Holmes of Charlotte, Tennessee in June, 1988. The collection includes correspondence from Salisbury to his wife Mary between 1843-1846 when he was serving as a captain in the Mexican American War. The collection also includes other family correspondence, genealogies and records.
