Photographs and military history of first St. Louis black woman in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. She joined the St. Louis Marine Reserves on July 17, 1953, was discharged a year later and re-enlisted into the regular Marine Corps on September 17, 1954. She retired July 31, 1975 as a gunnery sergeant (E-7).
