William Lionel Chambers Dies of “Flu”

Former St. Louisan, Once Attorney for Missouri Pacific, Succumbs in Rolla.

William Lionel Chambers, a former St. Louisan, died of influenza at Rolla, Mo., yesterday. He was 62 years old. The body will be cremated tomorrow at Valhalla.

Mr. Chambers was born in India, his father being a British army officer. During the Spanish-American War he served in Porto Rico and elsewhere. For many years he was employed in the legal department of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Since 1924 he had lived in Rolla, as president of the Little Piney Sand & Gravel Company. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucy Matthews Chambers and two children. His father-in-law is Leonard Matthews, 5447 Cabanne avenue.
