Saunders Norvell New Remington Chief

New York, Sept. 6 – Saunders Norvell has been elected president and a director of Remington Arms Company, succeeding J. B. Smalley, who resigned owning to ill health. He also was made a director of Remington Cash Register Company and all other subsidiaries of Remington Arms Co. The regular quarterly dividend of 1 ¾% on the first preferred stock was declared.

Norvell was formerly a St. Louisan. He was a candidate for the nomination for Mayor on the Democratic ticket in 1913. He left here for New York the following year, accepting the position of chairman of the Board of Directors of the New York drug firm of McKesson & Robbins.

Norvell, who is also former president and one of the founders of the Norvell-Shapleigh Hardware Co. here, started work with the Simmons Hardware Co.
